Steve Baxter and QUT CEA invest $500k in travel sector startup

Travelshoot has announced an investment of $500,000 from these Queensland based investors to help scale its business and maximise global opportunities with its travel partners, including Flight Centre Travel Group, Helloworld and RACQ. The business, which connects travellers with qualified local photographers around the world, has tripled its network of destinations in the last year and planned to continue this rapid expansion.

When you need maternity leave with your venture capital

A startup founder who raised $500,000 while four months pregnant, and insisted on three months’ maternity leave as part of the deal, has urged other female entrepreneurs to “call out” their family plans. Sarah Pearce launched Travelshoot, which links travellers with professional photographers, in 2015 but by early 2016 it had a surprise success – a distribution deal with travel agency giant, Flight Centre.
