There’s a certain irony that the Ten Network’s primary channel launched a new season of Shark Tank just days after entering voluntary administration. The show sets itself up with a team of experienced business people (Sharks) who look over startup proposals and then battle each other to invest their own hard-earned in these businesses.

Ten wins the night with help from Shark Tank and Masterchef – Mumbrella

Season three of Shark Tank premiered last night on Ten managing 749,000 metro viewers, taking Ten to an overall win. The program was the eighth-most-watched show of the evening, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings. Ten managed an overall win for the night with a 17.7% overall audience share, while Seven came in second with 17.1%, ahead of Nine’s 16.8%.

Atomo taps backers for more funds

Medical device innovator Atomo Diagnostics has gone to its backers for more funds as it builds up its international expansion. It is tapping its backers, which include the New York-based Global Health Investment Fund, Grand Challenges Canada, property developer Lang Walker as well as former head of Macquarie Bank Allan Moss, for a further $1.42 million.
